Self-Injection Systems / Auto-Injectors / Medical Devices
An auto-injector can be used for delivering liquid medication to patients in precisely specified doses. No longer restricted to emergency medication, today, these products are routinely applied. Since injections bypass the gastrointestinal tract, active ingredients that cannot be administered in tablet form can also be safely dosed at home.
Haemodialysis
Haemodialysis is also known as "blood purification". In this process, blood is cleaned with the aid of a dialyzer, in which the blood flows along a thin membrane and, by diffusion, delivers all the toxins into a highly pure water-salt solution.
Infusion therapy
Due to their high pharmaceutical compatibility and use without external ventilation, polypropylene (PP) based bags made of PolyCine film and tubes can be used in a wide range of applications.
Nutrition and total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
In cases where patients can no longer ingest normal food due to certain diseases, different nutrition systems can be applied. In this context, a distinction is made between enteral (tube feeding) and parenteral (venous) nutrition. Depending on the course of the disease, both forms of nutrition can be combined.
Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)
For peritoneal dialysis via CAPD bag, the peritoneum is used as a filter for blood purification. The dialysate (usually highly concentrated glucose) from the non-PVC bag system is introduced into the free abdominal cavity via a CAPD catheter that has grown into the abdominal wall.
Veterinary / animal health
PolyCine film is also used in the production of infusion bags for animal health. Areas of application include bags for intravenous use containing isotonic sodium chloride or Ringer's solution, which can be augmented by other drugs (e.g., painkillers).

The APP-200 is a polypropylen based, special anti-blocking film that is suitable for various applications as for instance CAPD drainage bags, urological collection systems or wound drainage devices.
Port Granule / Medical Compound
PolyCine also offers a polypropylen based medical compound for ports. The APP-147 compound is designed to be used in combination with APP film and tubing. It is suitable for the injection molding process.

The flexible IV bag provides many advantages compared to the common glass bottle or blow molded plastic container. It is light, easy to handle, carry and store and – most important – collapsible which makes air vents redundant.
